I’m Freya Downs aka Batopus, an Illustrative tattoo artist based in Tamworth. I create bold, nerdy and unique tattoos inspired by trad, folklore, history, anime, cartoons, horror, video-games, film and music.

I come from a background in illustration having studied my BA in Cardiff and working with comics before getting into the world of tattooing. I work in a mix of black-work and colour, I love to tattoo my original designs but i’m always happy to take on custom projects. Anything from cute kitsch fine-line designs to big bold traditional pieces, I’m in my element when dealing with the weird and wonderful.

I love all things pop-culture and when i’m not tattooing I love attending comic conventions, playing video-games, and seeing live music.
